I am Map Librarian and department head at the UCSB Library'sMap & Imagery Laboratory. I make maps, paper and digital; curate spatial data, including the largest known collection of aerial photographs in an academic library; create datasets of interest to the UCSB community; and serve as the main point of contact for researchers using cartographic materials and techniques. I have a continuing interest in the ways technology (most especially maps) affects our perception of the landscape and how we, as human beings, create place out of space.
